Laser Scanning is an emerging Technology and while the results can be great, it does take some time and a lot of experience to produce the results our clients require.
CADSense has had this tech in-house (x2 !) since 2020, we don't hire the equipment for a few days a year or loan it from another office. The Equipment is always right here in Southland!
We have experience in a wide variety of applications and projects, which often require very different techniques. This isn't something that is taught in a course. While some say it's more of a "black art magic" we believe our strong foundation of Engineering Trade Hands On, and 30+ Years in the design industry, as well as being expert level with a variety of complex CAD and Design tools gives us the background to produce the results you demand.
After all, if we have the expertise to complete your design using complex CAD and Scanning Technologies, and then physically Construct/Weld/Build your Project, then we probably have a pretty good idea what you and your wider Team require to hit the ground running!
Our process is to listen, absorb and process your ideas, then discuss with the team involved. From here we can propose and advise a smart way forward that best meets the needs of the entire Project Team.
We can combine our PointClouds with our own In-House Survey GNSS RTK Base, Rover and Drones, to enable Geo-Reference PointClouds to within 1cm of absolute accuracy, virtually anywhere in NZ!
Individual Pointclouds have their own accuracy, in the case of our TLS Scanner this can get down below 0.5mm! By optionally adding GNSS RTK "Control Points" this moves the accurate PointCloud to sub 1cm or less of the actual real-world Longitude/Latitude coordinates. Perfect for continued Civil Design, accurate onsite stake-out of new design elements, or GPS Guided machine control!
We have a close relationship with a Reg Cadastral Land Surveyor for Projects that require Signoff or more complex Total Station accuracy indoors that cannot be achieved with GNSS (For example building monitoring or Laser Scanning inside Tunnels).

A step well above standard consumer level drones. These work by receiving super accurate location information from our on-site GNSS RTK base to give highly accurate flights and data!
The DJI RTK is a purpose-built drone to provide the most compact and accurate low altitude mapping solution. DJI has rethought its drone technology from the ground-up, revolutionising its systems to achieve a new standard for drone accuracy — offering customers centimetre-accurate data while requiring fewer ground control points.
The technology allows users to combine and contrast position data captured from a virtual or physical base station. The RTK’s camera geotags the centimetre-level precision data into the image. Radial and tangential lens distortions are measured for every RTK’s camera to have its unique distortion parameters and write these distortion parameters into the image for post-process calibration.
Leica Disto Setups:
As well as having accurate setups and instrumentation, nothing beats a good old check of the data being produced onsite, on the day to enable truthing of the capture data. Leica Disto, Total Station and and Faro combine here as the best in the business. We can truth the data we capture Start/Middle/Finish to know we are meeting the required targets.
Dell Precision Workstations:
Top of the line workstation class machines for CAD Design and Processing in the Office. These include Full Commercial NVIDIA Workstation Quadro Class GPU's and Gigabytes of RAM !
What does this mean? Fast ! - (As Fast as it currently gets.) Fast processing and Design of large Datasets and full 3D Modelling.
Full Office NAS Storage and a Mixture of Internal and Online Server Farms for Fast processing of Engineering Level Datasets.
